Dave Randall - Bio
David Randall was raised in
Michigan. Along with his parents, Jim and Darlene, and 5 siblings, Dave spent most of
his years growing up in a small farming community near
Battle Creek. His father was a pastor and a teacher in the public schools. His mother is
now retired and still lives at the family homestead.
At a young age, Dave’s passion for music was fostered by singing with his family
on those long road trips to visit his grandparents and later singing in church.
After high school, David pursued his education at
Spring
Arbor
College, where he met his wife, Jayne (Hegwill). They traveled with the college
vocal group, Common Bond, around the
United States. Not long after graduating from college they were married.
Dave and Jayne now reside in
Clarksburg, Ontario. Dave is a school teacher in Thornbury at
Beaver
Valley
Community
School, where he teaches instrumental music to grades 7 and 8. They
have two teenage daughters, Chelsea and Rachel.
Chelsea is in her first year of university, pursuing her love for music and theatre.
Rachel is in her final year of high school and uses her passion for horses and
equestrian skills to teach children at summer camps.
Since recording his first CD in June 2001, Dave has traveled around the
United
States and
Canada singing gospel music at many churches, festivals and community events.
In September 2004, David won the Solo Talent Competition at the National Quartet
Convention in
Louisville,
KY. Along with singing on the TV show, 100 Huntley Street, Dave has preformed the national anthems at the Skydome in
Toronto and at
Comerica
Park in
Detroit.
Dave acknowledges that this ministry is not something he set out to do. He
says of it all, “There were a lot of small steps that I took, not realizing it
was God moving me in this direction. I had no idea where I was going, but still
kept stepping through the open doors. The few final pushes into this ministry
were undoubtedly orchestrated by the Holy Spirit.” Looking back, David sees God’s
hand clearly leading him to this place. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to tell the gospel story that I love.”
